The Latest Products (Foundations and Powders) I Used Up

I’ve been very good lately at using my products to the fullest up till the last drop.

I have a few foundations, powders and other products I’ve finished and I wanted to share my thoughts about them.

I really like good makeup and I’m always on the search for the best one. I don’t think you have to pay a very big amount for a good makeup, there are good drugstore brands as well. I am always searching also for a good powder and concealer. I don’t use a big amount of any of these products,  I use only a little each time. Actually, I really want to start using just concealer on problematic areas, or maybe a very light make up. If you have any suggestion for a good one I should try, feel free to write to me in the comments.

So, let’s move on to the good stuff:

The first product I want to talk about is a moisturizing gel.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

I got this one in travel size as a part of a package of travel size products from Clinique. overall, I think it’s a very light moisturizer mostly for hotter days. I just switched to using more oils and less regular moisturizers, because I think their effect is more dramatic. But as a moisturizer it’s not bad, it made my skin tighter and a bit brighter, a really mild effect and I’m not sure that with consistent use you’ll get a more prominent effect because it did look pretty much the same even with consistent use. But there’s a nice minor brightening effect, and it’s cool on the skin and absorbs very quickly. I give it a 6-star rank.

You can get it here.

The next product is a famous foundation that some people swear by, even though it is becoming vintage with all the new trendier brands that appeared lately, like Fenti beauty and Glossier. And it’s:

Revlon Color Stay Foundation for Oily Skin

I used this one for a long time, it has been my go-to foundation, it’s a good, basic foundation that gives you anything you could hope for in using it. The only main issue I had with this one was that it didn’t photograph well, but besides that, it gives you a good coverage, matte finish, and it didn’t dry my skin, all at the same time. I’de give it a 8.5\9 star-rank, only because I’m always on the lookout for the next best foundation, and now I’m more into the dewy look, so I find this one to be even a bit matte for me.

You can get it here and here.

The next product is another foundation, that was a big surprise for me:

Rimmel’s Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation

It had a pretty dry consistency, which is why I think it suited my oily skin really well. A very small amount of this product goes a long way, it gives really high and powdery coverage and covers pores and different imperfections easily. I think I liked it a lot also due to my minimal makeup habits, I could use a really small amount for a clean, made up look. It won’t give you Dewey look, but it will even out your skin tone very easily and make your skin look matte, even and clear in no time. Very easy application for a pretty high coverage. What surprised me the most about this one, was the number of compliments I got after each use (for real!), that alone suggests that it’s worth a try. But please note it can get a bit cakey if you put too much or if you have dry skin. So I would recommend this one for oily skin with prominent pores. I give this one a 9 rank (It’s really suprisingly good for oily skin, especially for the price).

You can find it here and here.

The next are two powders I used up:

Their prices are very different, the first is:

 Essence Mattifying Compact Powder

This product was really nice, and it proves that you don’t have to pay a lot for great results. It did exactly what it was supposed to do, it mattified my complexion with and without foundation. It was very light and easy to apply, and basically just got the job done. I’ll give it an 8.5 rank, just because I’m saving the higher numbers for the best of the best performing products. You can find it here and here.

The next one is a favourite and an iconic product, which has a higher price point. It’s:

Mac Blot Powder Pressed

it’s a staple for many, I loved it! with very little product, applied really lightly, I could get a great matte finish that, I think was one of the best velvety matte finishes I’ve ever had. As you can see I used every bit of product left in the package, and really really enjoyed using it. I’ll probably buy it again. I give it a 9 rank.

You can get it here.

The last product I wanted to talk about is:

Essence All About Matte Oil-Control Paper

I didn’t really like it. It didn’t do much for me, it felt kind of weird putting something that felt like a baking sheet on my face, and I didn’t feel a major mattifying effect. But maybe it’s just me. Anyway, I didn’t really find a use for this product, and I kept it in my bag for a long time. I ‘ll give this product a 3-star rank. You can get it here.

That’s it. The review of the last products I used. I’d love to hear from you if you’ve tried any of them and what did you think.

Have a glamorous week,
